One Run Dungeon
One Run Dungeon is a 2D run-and-gun platformer that I developed Fall of 2016 with Hoosier Games. In the beginning I worked as the lead programmer, but as of now I have become the project lead. One Run Dungeon's difficulty comes from our central design concept: Everything dies in one hit – including the player. The player’s only weapon is a projectile that fires in a straight line, aimed at where the player clicks on the screen. Contrary to what the name implies, the player is not actually expected to complete the game on their first try. Instead, players must rely on quick responses and muscle memory to progress further than their previous run.
One Run Dungeon is a side-scrolling platformer with one goal: beat the entire game in one run. Armed with just your spellbook and staff, you must defeat the countless hordes of beasts standing between you and the dungeon's master: The Necromancer.
Inspired by classics such as Contra and Metal Slug, you must run and gun your way through a classical high fantasy dungeon. Fast-paced and challenging, only the most skilled and the most foolhardy can reach the dungeon end in one run.
